It's a Winter Wonderland in the High Sierras

Just when we thought there'd be no snow for Christmas vacationers, the heavens delivered a glorious snowfall over the Sierra Nevadas and particularly Donner Summit area where great ski resorts like Sugar Bowl for downhillers, and Royal Gorge for x-country enthusiasts revel in the white stuff.

Come see for yourself! Check the CalTrans highway cam for real-time road conditions, and take a look at my Donner Summit Vacation Home at www.fireoflife.net.

  1. The snow is powder light, not like the common "Sierra Cement". The weather promises to be clear for the next several days.

  2. February was a great month for snow revitalizing the ski and board resorts for the spring.
March came in like a lion with more snow, and snow continues to arrive alternating with nice sunny days.
